An update is long overdue for this blog. We have been busy attaching with our beautiful little girl who has been in our home for over 3 months now. Evangeline is probably the easiest, happiest and most adorable little baby anyone could ask for. She is truly a gift to us sent from God. Every time she smiles or grabs my face and squeals I am reminded of our journey to this point. We are filled with joy and wonder at His miraculous plan and story for us. Although that story is far from over we are trusting that the next year will reveal more of what He has had in mind for us.
There are a few check points for the birth mother. One of which is the first week of May. At that point there will be a .26 hearing date set for September or October. For those of you who do not know much about the system, the .26 hearing is the time at which the court terminates parental rights of a child. If everything goes our way we will begin the adoption process shortly after that hearing which would put the finalization of the adoption at the first of next year.
We are still learning so much about this process and so thankful for the amazing social workers that God has brought our way. The details are in God's hands so we just watch and wait as the unanswered questions become clearer.
I always new that God gave me a singing voice to share and I always knew it was for singing to my children. What better audience is there?
Her name is unique. I wanted to make up a song for her so she could here her name over and over again. So, here it is.
"Evangeline, oh my sweet Evangeline
You have eyes just like the sky and your hair,
it is golden too
I love you so, I always will
My darling Evangeline"
Silly, yes but worth seeing her light up when she hears it.
While we wait for answers we relish in loving our little girl.
